Hello summer, we’ve been waiting for you!  Even though today marks the official start of summer, our stores have been in sunshine mode for weeks now.  Vivid colors, airy tanks, and even oversized beach hats - we’re diving into our favorite time of year with new summer must-haves arriving daily!  With a new season, comes new trends & we’re here to break it down for you.  Even more so than trends, we’ve picked out five key looks that will be wardrobe staples long into summer... (and possibly into fall too).

Crochet Lace
Fine, crochet lace details are popping up everywhere - something that has certainly carried over from fall & will continue to be a look that can be worn year-round.  Our two favorite pieces?  The mabel top by Woo - a gauzy cotton tunic with asymmetric crochet lace collar detailing and bell sleeves (available in either white or black!).  Or the statement-making v-neck lace maxi dress by Ella Moss.  Both pieces are perfection for summer!

Color Crush
From neon to more traditional shades, we’re loving orange right now!  We’ve always been big fans of incorporating color into your look with accessories, but for summer we’re obsessed with bright tanks and tees.  Try out an eye-catching coral tank from American Vintage - and just see how many compliments you get!  Wear it now (with everything!) and later (layered under your favorite cardigan).  Without a doubt, it’s the shade of the season.

With the official start of summer just two weeks away, it’s time to start thinking about shorts weather.  If you’re like me, you have tons of simple sundresses and tanks for summer but not enough shorts options.  (And lets be honest, skinny jeans just won’t do on a hot July afternoon!)  Jean shorts, or “jorts,” are the perfect addition to a summer wardrobe & here’s why:

These slouchy denim cut-offs are a dream when it comes to summer dressing.  Roll them up a few times for a midi short or wear them longer for that boy-meets-girl look (both are big trends for summer!).  I’m picturing them paired with an American Vintage tee for a laid-back Sunday afternoon... or dressed up with a silk blouse & platform sandals for drinks on the patio.  Summertime can’t come soon enough!
